Plagued by visions of a witch whose face afflicts her, waking or sleeping, Emily longs to know the handsome knight who defends her in her dreams. She awakens with his name on her lips Sir Damien de Lioncoeur, the legendary Black Knight of Montavere. Shivering with anticipation, Emily uncovers her past life in the thirteenth century. Led to the mystical castle ruins near Stonehenge, Emily returns to the place of her dreams, but she finds more than her knight, for something evil stalks her through time...

Timeless eBook Emma Eliot

I really enjoyed this particular time travel romance because the Damien and Emmeline's story begins in the past but carries them through to the present and not vice versa as with other stories. This makes the story more entertaining as the reader can can better understand modern social mores as compared to a time and society only able to be read about in history books and not fully known or understood even now. By keeping the couples relationship in modern 21st century life, the reader is better able to imagine finding their true love in present or future, after all as they say "love is a beautiful thing" no matter the century.

Timeless eBook Emma Eliot Reviews

I love a good time travel romance and this was NOT it for severl reasons, but mostly justbad writing Whiney teenage heroine, two- dimensional hero who inspired lots of yawns and no emotional connection, promising secondary characters who were largely un- developed, an unimaginative villain with no motivation for her conflict with the heroine, boring , boring, boring. One-third of the novel was excerpted from t.s. Eliot poetry. I want my 99 cents back!
The story definitely has a lot of potential, but it ultimately fell short of my expectations. I really like the theme of reincarnation and magic and knights, but it didn't fit together well. I know there's more to come in a later book (or books?), but I'm not sure I want to invest my time in it. The motivation behind Lamia's villainy felt unbelievable and the end seemed rushed.
I loved the idea of the storyline, and it did have conflict, but it just seemed like there were long time periods of nothing happening and then all of a sudden too much happened for it to make sense. I hated the way the villain's defeat was described. It didn't make any sense to me. It was clever how she used poetry to foreshadow what was going to happen in each chapter, but I think she followed the Keats poem a little too closely.
I like time travel books, if they are plausible. This one is not. In fact it is beyond ridiculous!!! The main female character is not likable...been in love with a boy all her life and then dumps him for some one she dreams about???? Then when she brings the boy she dreams about across time, there is no depth to him. The supposed protagonist of the story is a step mother that you never find out why she hates the daughter. I hated this book and wish I could not only get my 99 cents back, but also the time I wasted on this book. Time would have been better spent watching paint dry.
I liked the story line of this book, but unfortunately it really fell short for me. While I almost never like to criticize an author or his/her writing - I felt it seemed a very immature writing for this type of story. I was confused a lot of time and the facts didn't flow really well as a lead to the story. I almost stopped reading it very early on, even though I sort of knew it wouldn't get better but decided to give it a chance. I found myself fast reading just to get through it. I will say that I feel the writing did seem to improve over the course of the book, it just all felt very teen-agery for my taste. I thought it really lacked depth and most of the writing and descriptions of events seemed more like afterthoughts. Sorry Emma - I will try some of your other writings but "Timeless" just didn't do it for me this time.
I was surprised by how much I would get into this book! I definitely want the next one! Very good read, good characters, and a cool story line.
Great story. Would recommend this book to anyone who likes a great reading experience, looking forward to reading more from this author.
