Funny, interesting and I would recommend adults buying it to cheer up your life and to be able to laugh. The author in some way seems to place crazy, out spoken, protect with a gun old lady, Aunt Edna, in many of her books and this one is no exception. I love her. I do wish publishing companies would come to realize that many of us readers can enjoy a book w/o "wanting sexual desires over emphasized ". Many times I have to skip over pages just to get back to what's going to happen next, other than sex. I really don't need to read about someone's else's sex live I have my own. I would recommend the audio book to an adult. It's great listening to and I never worry about being stuck in traffic in my 35 minute drive home.

This was absolutely a fun read. Accidents or coincidence that the main character meets up with a handsome guy who she continuously accidently physically harms. She ends up having to take care of him until he gets well. He's having the time of his life - there are things, simple things he's never done before, like stuff a turkey. And there is a humdinger of an Aunt (hers) who's involved in the picture as well as a little girl who this guy simply begins to adore. It's simply a fun read, and of course romance.
This cd is wonderful .The story is cute and sometimes so funny , I laughed myself silly. The author wrote quite a few of these stories, years ago and I wish she was still writing these light comedy fiction stories.
Janet Evanovich, writes with such natural ease, and she is so funny, since I started to read her I have laughed so hard my eyes watered and my stomach hurt!!and this has made me eager to read all her books. I started with One For the Money and read all 18 then I ordered(I think almost) all of the others she wrote. I have ordered all these books from and have great success with deliveries that are quick!!! Hero at Large is one those books that
starts out with a good guy trying to help to fix a girls car and she ends up breaking his arm (Love at First Sight)
and it gets better from there... Very good Read.

First, I cannot, cannot, cannot , cannot stand the voice of CJ Critt!!!!!!!!!!!!She overacts, while failing to create different voices for characters and overemphasizes things and is so distracting that I can hardly follow a story if she is narrating. She is the only reason I don't like the Alexandra Barnaby series. Now for the writing, Janet is so much better than this. She takes me thru the Houston traffic every day. I have listened to the plum series once Janet started using Lorelei King who really is the best reader for audio books I have ever heard. But this just seems below par and again, it is read by CJ Critt.
Having read every Stephanie Plum book and raved about them to everyone, I was shocked at how boring this book was. Perhaps because it was first published in 1988, Janet Evanovich was just starting out. If you took page after boring page of sex talk and sexual encounters out you could read this book in thirty minutes. I downloaded it on my kindle and got a finger cramp from skipping over the pointless sexual banter. The story is shallow, silly, and empty. The characters lack any debt and the ending seems like Ms. Evanovich herself got tired of the book and just wrote, The End. It had such promise but never got off the ground. If this had been my first Evanovich book it would have been my last. Skip this turkey and head straight for the Plum pudding.
Love Janet Evanovich! Her books always make me laugh, and that's so very good! This book was funny and entertaining, and I laughed a lot. Loved the character, Edna, and was surprised that the dog, depicted on the cover, did not play a larger role! Enjoyed the book!
I don't particularly like Charlotte Hughes' input; she seems to hold Janet Evanovich's sense of humor back. I've read other collaborations between the two and I don't particularly care for it. Hughes is a dreamer and lost in fairytale land about women. I don't know why there is always such a forced fairytale ending when Evanovich collaborates with Hughes. But portions of the story are believable, sort of, and it's entertaining. The interesting areas are with the doctor's daughter who is thirteen and her involvement with her own self interests. The doctor doesn't seem to be focused on her medical practice, at least the doing gets lost in the story. And then there is Queenie, a nurse and some kind of voodoo medler. The villian is ruthless, there isn't a lot of emotional investment in his character.
